"Make My Trail" transforms your iPhone or GPS-enabled iPad into an effective tool for recording outdoor activities. This application allows users to create interactive trails that can be shared, analyzed, and revisited.

The interactive trails feature is particularly noteworthy; they are not merely static lines on a map. As users navigate these trails, they change color and provide alerts if one strays too far from the designated path. Simply tap on an interactive trail to select it and access its various features.

Additionally, "Make My Trail" enables users to establish waypoints, offering distance-and-direction navigation assistance. With just a few taps, you can engage Maps for turn-by-turn navigation to any waypoint you designate. Notifications upon arrival at these waypoints are a convenient feature, even if the app is minimized while tracking your journey.

Rather than being just a static point on a map, the app actively guides you along the trails and toward the waypoints that you've created.

It's worth noting that tracking continues effectively even when the app is minimized, thereby conserving battery life compared to keeping the app open in the foreground. However, continued use of GPS in the background has been shown to significantly impact battery longevity.
